In what turned out to be one of the coolest concepts for a celebrity tribute we’ve ever seen, Chris Milk tasked fans to help create a music video for Johnny Cash’s last studio recording. Through his interactive site, fans were invited to each recreate one frame of the video, to later be combined into a collective whole. What resulted was a music video that encompassed how an entire fan base feels about the American rock legend.
Google liked the idea enough to highlight it in their campaign, “The Web is What You Make Of It,” and tasked us with meticulously re-creating the Chrome browser interface in a series of :90 videos. The second video showed how Google’s review services turned a struggling “Frank Restaurant” in Texas into the area’s go-to for artisan sausages.
The spots we produced garnered over 1.3 million views on YouTube alone, and also aired on prime time TV in their full :90 glory.
